Position: Senior Civil Engineer (12-Month Contract)
 
We are representing a client seeking a skilled Senior Civil Engineer for a stimulating and challenging role based in their interdisciplinary design studio in London. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects including infrastructure designs, master planning, healthcare, higher education, schools, and historic refurbishments. As part of their team, you'll contribute to sustainable strategies, flood resilience, and climate change initiatives.
 
About You:
 
We are looking for an engineer with a strong academic background and a minimum of 2 years of post-chartered experience in working on large-scale projects (£10m or more). You should possess excellent technical skills, with proficiency in IT. Your ability to convey creative ideas through sketching and effective communication with various stakeholders is crucial.
 
You should demonstrate leadership in addressing technical issues, possess a collaborative team-working style, and excel in building strong professional relationships. Additionally, you must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
- Managing the delivery of multi-disciplinary projects from concept to construction stage.
- Preparation and review of technical reports and specifications.
- Planning project resources and monitoring financial performance.
- Ensuring compliance with QA procedures, Health and Safety, and CDM Regulations.
- Mentoring and developing junior team members.
- Building strong client relationships.
- Cultivating relationships with professionals within the industry.
 
Technical Skills:
 
You should have:
 
- A minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience (MICE).
- Proficiency in varied infrastructure design skills, including drainage and public realm.
- Experience in sustainable drainage design and knowledge of civil engineering software.
- Expertise in drainage schemes, pavement design, flood management, flow path analysis, ground modeling, and master planning.
- Familiarity with civil engineering construction principles and standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroDrainage, and Civil 3D.
- Desirable familiarity with Revit and Navisworks.
- Sound knowledge of relevant design standards and legislation.

- Ability to work independently and seek assistance when needed.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Motivated to deliver projects to time, budget, and quality standards.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Commercially aware.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
