Our engineering recruitment journey

Why Alexander Associates
Positively impacting communities
and driving change
Environmental
We have taken several steps to address our environmental impact:
We assess our carbon footprint to identify opportunities to reduce emissions or offset those that are unavoidable.
We’ve implemented initiatives like cycle-to-work programs, an electric vehicle scheme, minimising waste and boosting recycling efforts, reducing paper usage, and sourcing energy from environmentally conscious suppliers.
As a company, we are dedicated to partnering exclusively with organisations that demonstrate strong environmental responsibility.
Social
We’re proud to be an Age-Friendly Employer
We’re pleased to have signed the Age-Friendly Employer Pledge with the Centre for Ageing Better – an important milestone in our commitment to building workplaces where people of all ages, especially those over 50, can thrive. This goes beyond inclusion; it’s about tackling age-related inequalities and actively fostering a culture that sees ageing as a vital and positive force within our workforce and society
Sponsorship
Our sponsorship initiatives create lasting change for individuals and communities. By working with the British Red Cross, we bring skilled engineering talent into the UK, helping professionals rebuild their careers and contribute to the local economy. In partnership with Red R, we send skilled engineers to countries that need their expertise the most, providing critical support in disaster-affected regions. In our latest She’s An Engineer initiative, we lay the foundation for greater diversity in engineering by sponsoring a student each year into an apprenticeship or placement, opening doors for young women to shape the future of the industry.
Women in Engineering
We’re proud to promote the work of women in the field and advocate for change. She’sAnEngineer aims to inspire interest and build a foundation for a stronger, more equitable engineering industry, by highlighting women’s achievements, providing resources to support women entering engineering, and educating the industry on the benefits of female diversity.
We are Silver Sponsors of the Charity She Can Engineer, a charity working to close the gender gap in engineering industries by showcasing the accomplishments of female engineers, raising awareness around issues relating to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I), and promoting engineering to children. (We are the only recruitment agency sponsor!)
Partners of The Women’s Engineering Society (WES)
Employer-supported volunteering (ESV)
We are dedicated to supporting our communities. As part of this commitment, we offer all team members two days of paid leave each year to participate in charitable volunteering. To date, our colleagues have supported initiatives including the Three Peaks Challenge, Cats Protection, Round Table events, Stripey Stork, and Sal’s Shoes.
Governance
ISO9001
The internationally recognised standard for Quality Management Systems (QMS), providing a framework for organisations to consistently deliver quality products and services.
REC accreditation
REC approved members are recognised for their professionalism and the value they provide to clients and professionals. This certification delivers the assurance of first-class recruitment services because of our commitment to REC’s Code of Professional Practice. We are incredibly proud to have been an approved corporate member of the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) since 2021.
