Gareth joined Alexander Associates in 2001, bringing a sharp focus to technical engineering sectors, including Civil, Structural, MEP Design, and Architecture. Over the following decade he played a pivotal role in the rapid growth of Alexander Associates, supporting some of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects, such as HS1, Crossrail, and later Thames Tideway and HS2. During this time, Gareth was instrumental in establishing Alexander Associates as a leader in Digital Engineering and Building Information Modelling (BIM).
In 2008, Gareth was appointed to the board as Director, a milestone that allowed him to split his time between managing large national accounts and cultivating partnerships with start-ups and SMEs. Through his consultative approach, he supported the growth of some of the sector’s fastest-growing consulting engineering firms, cementing his reputation as a trusted advisor to candidates and clients alike.
In 2016, Gareth led a successful Management Buyout (MBO) of Alexander Associates and now serves as CEO, driving the company’s vision and strategy. Alongside his leadership role, Gareth provides strategic talent consultancy, guiding clients of all sizes on talent acquisition strategies, candidate experience, compliance, and retention. Passionate about fostering innovation, he also mentors emerging recruitment entrepreneurs within technical industries.
A proud father of two and an advocate for work-life balance, Gareth brings this ethos into the culture at Alexander Associates. Beyond his professional and family life, he is an active volunteer and has acted as chairperson, and trustee for local charities. His longstanding involvement with the Round Table organisation has contributed to raising over £400,000 for community initiatives in the Caterham area, with a focus on supporting underprivileged children, and enhancing school and community facilities.
