- Description
We are currently seeking an experienced CAD Technician with a strong background in mechanical design, specifically in piping, steelwork, site layout, and P&IDs within the water industry. This is a long-term contract opportunity (outside IR35) offering the chance to work on high-profile projects that play a key role in improving the infrastructure of the water sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mechanical CAD Design: Produce detailed 2D and 3D AutoCAD drawings for piping, steelwork, site layout, and associated mechanical systems.
- P&IDs: Develop and modify Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) as per the project requirements.
- 3D Modelling: Provide 3D models for project components using AutoCAD, with occasional use of Revit for more complex designs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure the design meets technical specifications, quality standards, and project deadlines.
- Site Layout: Create accurate and efficient site layouts for water treatment plants, pumping stations, or other water-related infrastructure projects.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D) is essential.
- Revit experience is desirable but not essential.
- Strong understanding of piping, steelwork, and mechanical design principles, especially within the water sector.
- Experience with P&ID design and layout drawing.
- Experience working in the water industry or similar sectors (e.g., utilities, environmental) is a plus.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, and standards.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage workload effectively.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar CAD Technician role within the water or utilities sector.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proactive, solution-oriented attitude with a strong attention to detail.
- Outside IR35 contract status.
- Ability to work on a long-term contract basis.
