A leading infrastructure organisation is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer from an electrical background to join a high-profile energy framework. This is a pivotal role offering both technical and commercial challenges, supporting major bids and leading the assurance of detailed design for energy infrastructure projects.
This role offers flexible working and the chance to play a key part in delivering sustainable infrastructure solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead design development to meet client needs, budgets, and compliance.
Drive safety, quality, innovation, and sustainability throughout design.
Oversee internal and third-party design teams, including M&E.
Manage subcontractor design deliverables and approvals.
Provide buildability insights to project teams.
Liaise with statutory authorities and support change control.
Lead value engineering and design reviews at project milestones.
Coordinate BIM implementation and model management.
Champion Lean construction principles and continuous improvement.
Promote safety by design and contribute to knowledge sharing across projects.
Ideal Candidate:
Strong technical and commercial background in grid infrastructure.
Experience working on National Grid or similar energy frameworks.
Confident leading multidisciplinary design teams and processes.
