Role Overview:
As a Lead Design Engineer, you will oversee the design phase for wastewater and clean water infrastructure projects, from detailed design through to construction, commissioning, and handover. You’ll collaborate closely with the client, providing ECI support in solution development and outline design. A key aspect of this role is building and developing your team of Project Leaders and engineers, ensuring resource allocation aligns with project timelines and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a positive, transparent work environment that encourages team members to reach their potential.
  • Monitor project performance, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee project controls and ensure compliance with quality, program, and cost standards.
  • Ensure client Asset Standards are applied accurately, promoting efficiencies and best practices.
  • Maintain strong collaboration with client Engineers, supporting the delivery of our target project portfolio.

What We Offer:

  • Involvement in a project portfolio extending through AMP8.
  • Flexible working arrangements to support effective project delivery.
  • A role integral to the regional team, collaborating with clean water and wastewater treatment design leads.

Candidate Profile:

  • MUST HAVE: Chartered or Incorporated member of ICE.
  • Experience in water or wastewater pipeline design.
  • MUST HAVE: Proficiency in outline and detailed design, along with knowledge of Designer/Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015.

Benefits Include:

  • Competitive salary and core benefits such as pension matching up to 7%.
  • Options to buy, sell, and carry over annual leave.
  • Life assurance, private medical insurance, critical illness insurance, and health screening.
  • Enhanced family leave policies.
  • Professional subscription cost coverage.
  • UK-wide gym membership discounts, cycle-to-work scheme, and more.
